Microscopic Praise
Do you suppose Willard Wigan would get massively ticked off if people started marveling over the complexity of design demonstrated in his works of art and then blithly attribute them to manufacturing faults caused at the sewing needle factory?
Scientists do nothing less when they examine the macro-complexity of the universe - staring at the heavens through ever increasingly complex technology and then to the thundering applause of others declare that they have discovered proof of evolution out there.
Ask almost any first year micro-biology student about the complexity of the cell and even of a single bacterium and you might get a long lecture explaining the inner workings of what they've been learning. But we wouldn't be surprised at all to hear in the midst of the sentence, some randomly laced attributions to the wonder of almighty evolution in producing such machinery.
A few years ago Michael Behe wrote a book examining the concept of "irreducible complexity" (the concept that the biomechanical inner workings of cells are too complex to be explained by evolution). His book "Darwin's Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution" sold quite a few copies. While I haven't read Behe's work (yet) I do agree with the thesis. The overwhelming complexity, beauty and yes irreducible complexity of nature demands a creator.
"The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard. Their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world." Psalm 19:1-4 ESV

Having read only a little
Having read only a little Behe and heard only snippets of a debate, I can only say that his work does put forth a hefty challenge to mindless, mechanistic, Godless, random chance evolution.
Behs is sometime too technical for most readers (including me) who have little or no background/training in biochemistry, genetics, cellular biology, etc, but he puts forth a sound challenge and does so with dignity. Other design promoters like the ID (Intelligent Design) folks also press such arguments as well.
The ID movement has met some resistance from the public sector who claim they are promoting Christianity in the guise of ID. Nonetheless, there is much good scholarship forthcoming providing stiff challenges to Darwinian Evolution models.
We should welcome honest scientific investigation, for as we drill ever more deeply into the mystery of the cell, we will only discover more and more of His hand in creation as you said all creation declares His glory
