Goodbye Google Adsense

I've had enough of Google adsense. I've struggled with having it on the site anyway - the only reason I started with it was to try and pay my hosting fees (it hasn't done much of that either.)
I started with restricting it to only users who weren't logged in, and realized after someone sent me a complaint about one of the adds that I was never seeing them and turned them on across the board so I could monitor them. I started seeing lots of adds that made me nervous. Some of them pointed to outright heretical sights, others to completely irrelevant sites.
I journeyed into the configuration pages at adsense and typed in a bunch of keywords that I wanted to avoid, but that's not entirely effective. This morning I was directed to reread a post on Leviticus concerning the differences in birth purification between boys and girls. Google adsense complied with links to porn. That's it!

I sincerely and humbly apologize to my readers for allowing the devil into the den. It's gone. While I was only eight cents from actually getting a payment, what concerns me the most however is the very real possibility that someone clicked on those links, unfortunately I had tracking of those clicks turned off. All I can do is to present you all with an earnest exhortation:

My friends please avert your eyes from such things. Job 31:1 has been an excellent guide for me, "I have made a covenant with my eyes; How then could I gaze at a [young woman]?"
1 Corinthians 6:18 "Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body."
1 Timothy 6:11 "But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness."

Perhaps I'll include a few other links for you to peruse:

The great chastity experiment

A while back, tcblack's challenged us with a post on modesty, pornography, and sin, particularly with Job 31:1 - "I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I gaze at a virgin?" Since I am quite aware of what it means to gaze at a virgin, I resolved not to be a lecher, a dirty old man. I would not gaze at the virgin. I would be chaste. And so I am here to report:

Abject failure.
